Movie Dubbing

This is a group work so you need to build a team. You need to dub all the sounds of a movie or animation of your choosing.

The dubbing performance needs to be a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes long.

Short English Sketches This is also a group work project so you need a team. I have provided some sketch options here on the website including their audio. Most of the sketches are with 3 or more characters. There are also some sketches with characters that don't have much speech so their parts will not be evaluated as project work.
ABC Talks

The student must choose a topic of their interest and make a live presentation about it for 3-5 minutes depending on their grade.

5-6th grades' minimum speech time is 3 minutes, while all other classes are required to speak for at least 5 minutes.

ABC Post Article Writing

You need to design at least one WHOLE page of the newspaper including all pictures, photos, and other elements.

Your page format must be A4 or A3 size and portrait-oriented.

You must use the "Calibri" font type with 14 point size.

The page can be designed in WORD, PDF, CANVA, POWERPOINT, or any other digital tool. You can check previous issues of ABC Post here on the website for examples.

Photo Stories & Comic Books

You need to make your own photo story or comic book.

Photo stories and comic books must be at least 4 pages long on A4-sized paper. Last year's project posters are on the notice boards in the corridor by New York and here on the website.

English Show(song, music, or show performance)

You need to form your own band or performance team and prepare a mini-show that should last for at least 15 minutes on the stage. This could comprise different shows like concerts, sketches, comedy shows, etc.

Interview / Make a dialogue with foreigners You should visit the historical places, airports, tourist attractions, etc in Istanbul. You have to interview about a topic you choose or make an immediate dialogue with the foreigners there. You have to take videos while chatting and edit your videos. The video should be at least 5 minutes long.
Shoot a vlog about a subject you choose Vlogs must be a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 minutes long in total. It may be shot on Padlet. Self-video must be included, only sound is not acceptable. You can shoot your video in separate parts which shouldn't exceed 7 days.
A Travelogue

Make a travelogue about one of the following topics:

I) Celebrations around the world: You should give detailed information about, at least 10 different celebrations around the world.

II) Places around the world. You should introduce at least 10 different places you have visited. You should give detailed information about the places and add photos.

 

GENERAL RUBRIC FOR ALL PROJECTS

There are going to be 2 check-ups before the final submission of the project. If you miss any of the check-ups you will lose points and there will be no compensation.

 

FIRST CHECK - 10 POINTS - February 26

You are supposed to choose your project topic from the given list and inform your teacher. You must include the first draft of your work for corrective feedback from your teacher.

 

SECOND CHECK - 20 POINTS - MARCH 25

You must have completed at least 50% of your project. You need to show your work to your teacher for evaluation and corrective feedback.

 

FINAL SUBMISSION - 70 POINTS - APRIL 29

You need to deliver the final version of your project by this date. For each delayed day you will receive a -5 points penalty to your final score. Your final project will be evaluated according to the following criteria depending on the type of your work:

GRAMMATICAL ACCURACY = 20 POINTS

FLUENCY & USE OF VOCABULARY = 20 POINTS

PRONUNCIATION & PUNCTUATION AND SPELLING = 20 POINTS

TIME MANAGEMENT & PAGE FORMAT = 10 POINTS

 

TOTAL POINTS = 1ST CHECK(10) + 2ND CHECK(2O) + FINAL (70) = 100 POINTS
